Community Involvement

Engaging with my community has always been at the heart of who I am. For me, it's not just about giving back—it's about building trust, fostering inclusion, and co-creating a better world. Whether through legal advocacy, volunteer service, or simply showing up with empathy, I believe in the transformative power of connection.

Citizen’s Police Academy Graduate (Class 51)
In July 2023, I proudly graduated from the Miami-Dade County Citizen’s Police Academy (Class 51). This immersive 16-week program provided valuable insight into law enforcement practices and deepened my appreciation for the challenges and responsibilities of policing. It strengthened my commitment to bridge-building between communities and institutions.

Active Volunteer – My Voice Counts Inc.
As a proud volunteer with My Voice Counts, I’ve delivered reports to all 535 congressional offices—detailing the contributions of Venezuelan doctors and health professionals living in the U.S.—in support of the Venezuelan Adjustment Act (VAA). These advocacy trips to Washington, D.C. reflect my dedication to amplifying the voices of immigrants who contribute meaningfully to this country.

Legal Advocacy – Human Rights Watch Collaboration
In May 2025, I collaborated with Human Rights Watch to document human rights violations in the immigrant community in Miami.  This opportunity aligned with my long-standing commitment to immigrant rights and international advocacy.

Engagement with the HNBA Community
In March 2024, I had the honor of representing the University of Miami School of Law at the HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference & Moot Court Competition in Seattle. Volunteering at this national event allowed me to engage with leaders in the Hispanic legal community and solidified my goal of using my legal career to uplift Latinx voices and empower underserved communities.

Volunteer – Florida ACLU
During winter break 2024, I volunteered with the ACLU of Florida, taking hotline shifts and conducting interviews with detainees at the Baker County Detention Center. I documented civil and human rights violations and provided support to individuals often forgotten by the system. This work remains one of the most meaningful experiences in my legal journey.

Leadership – ABA International Law Section, Human Rights Committee
I proudly serve as a Steering Committee Member of the Human Rights Committee within the ABA International Law Section. Through this role, I collaborate with global legal professionals to promote international justice, legal education, and access to rights for all.

Why Community Involvement Matters
For me, community involvement is a way of life. As an immigrant, a mother, and a future attorney, I’ve witnessed the power of showing up—for your people, your principles, and your purpose. These experiences have taught me that real change starts in our neighborhoods, with the courage to listen and the heart to act.

Community is where strangers become allies, where a single voice can echo into collective change, and where hope is rebuilt every day. As an aspiring life coach and advocate, I believe deeply in the healing, empowering, and unifying potential of community work. I hope to inspire others to rise, give back, and become changemakers in their own unique way
